Hi there, I am struggling with the fact that some cards are on the "official" Topps/Panini checklists but may not exist at all. With may not I mean that it is highly probably (I rather talk about 99% sure, not a light feeling) that those does not exist. I got 3 examples for you from 2020 only.
- Topps Big League - base auto of Max Kepler and Cavan Biggio -> 35 players are on the base and parallels checklist but those 2 seems to have no base auto. There are hunderds of listing of base autos on ebay and other platforms but those 2. Both have rare parallel autos which are sold multiple times. Not a single one pulled from hunderds of cases I saw got ripped (tried to track down the Kepler). Not one has been marked as "have" here on tcdb.
- Panini Select Pink /10 parallel - I had spots on about 70 case breaks, most likely saw another 100 cases got ripped (incl international breaks) as well as. Not a single card / player has been pulled of this parallel. Not a single card showed up on ebay, sportlots, blowoutforums etc. Bunch loads of more rare parallels has been listed. Not one has been marked as "have" here on tcdb with a checklist of 250 players.
- Topps Museum Collection - Dual Relics. Same as 1). 3 cards apparently do not have a base /50. Not a single one pulled from breaks I saw (tried to track down the Sano/Kepler), nothing got sold on ebay and co., not one has been marked as "have" here on tcdb; multiple lower numbered parallels of these cards has been pulled and sold. Cards are DMR-HVO, DMR-KSA and DMR-SCO.
I am not saying that I am right, just wanna discuss how to handle such issues. Tag as "existence questionable"? Delete by the day a card of these show up.
Appreciate the discussion.

For the amount of research you have done on these, I would trust your judgment and support removing them. Which means everyone else will say the opposite!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

We have been known to remove these when provided with such evidence. If you can please include that level of information in the Inaccuracy Reports on each card, we can use that as "ammo" to get them removed (in case Admin needs to be involved to remove them, that level of vodence will sway him). Thanks.

Definitely agree on the Select Pinks. Definitely not produced. I submitted similar info for a Panini parallel last year to have it removed. I actually appreciate someone waiting a solid 6+ months, backing it up, and having those things removed before someone forgets and 10 years from now they're on everyone's want list and no one remembers anything about the set release. Good on ye

I'm convinced that the 2002-03 Topps Xpectations First Shot card of Steve Logan doesn't exist. I've been chasing it for a while, but I can find no evidence of one other than being on checklist here and Beckett. There are no records I can find of an example being sold, but I'm not the greatest researcher. He refused to sign with the Warriors and never played in the NBA. That was an early/midseason release so they might not have known that yet. It would have been his only Topps card ever, and in a jersey set. I know he was at the Rookie Photo shoot, which that insert is based around, since he recently posted a photo from it on Twitter. That ends my theory that he never even went. I can't conclusively prove the card doesn't exist yet I'm sure it doesn't.
It's the only card from the set I'm missing, since I targeted that set to be my first completed jersey set.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I wish companies would come out and announce when cards are not released. I think most collectors would appreciate it and would trust the companies more.
I am as close to 100% certain that Topps did not release half of the checklist for the 2015 Topps UFC Finest Sponsor autographs. The cards were redemptions, so I am willing to bet that Topps waited until they got enough redemptions for the cards before actually making them and cards with none or limited number of redemptions were not made. I am looking for the Ryan Bader card specifically and in the past 8 years I have seen only 1 redemption card (it was submitted for redemption but was never filled) and no cards.

The evidence does seem to suggest they don't exist.

Select pinks are National Convention Issued are they not? Not inserted into the actual product so they weren't added to the Panini website checklists.I could be wrong...
I guess it depends on the sport/year

Yeah depends on year/sport. 2020 baseball pinks were on Panini's original pack release checklist but never appeared.
