I started with SportsCardForum years ago and its detailed inventory tracking stats is a large part of what got me into super collecting. Here's a screencap of what their player collector stats page looks like.
Their "All Cards excluding all 1/1" is what I have always been after, and eventually I wanted to start tracking that for parallels as well like MEM, AU, and SN. Unfortunately, SCF's inventory manager is just one guy, and he's kind of fallen down on the job the last few years and has large swaths of major release sets that he's never added and hasn't added even upon request, which led me here. I love that TCDB is user-built, which is so much more scalable, and has allowed me to build a much more definitive list for player collecting. However, TCDB really lacks in the stats summaries like the above screenshot. I hope someday it can get there, but I can tell that the servers can barely handle large requests (e.g. "See other members that have cards of this team FS/FT"), and adding more stats summaries isn't going to reduce server load.
Anyway, I ended up building my own player checklist in Excel, and used formulas and data validation to come up with the stats I've always wanted, here's what the first draft looks like!
Hopefully someday we can do some similar things on TCDB as well. Let me know what you think!
Ian

TCDB is the best out there and I agree some of the more detailed features would be killer!

Ian,
Really like the stats chart that you set up and the one at SCF. Curious do you have a spreadsheet for your PC and used that for the excel cart?

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

Adding stuff like that here would take TCDB over the tp in my humble opinion. The best part of this site is it's always being improved and the group has a say in it.

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

Really love the idea, Ian. I've played around, too, with Excel (and Calc on Open Office) to get a better handle on my collection. Again, this is to personalize it just like you did, and understanding that TCDB is not MINE, so it needs to meet a vast membership, but I am stil able to use it for the majority of my collection, yet I continue searching for that last piece to coordinate and help me visualize my collection. There are plenty of stats with TCDB and the Goals section has helped, but I still need something similar to what you've come up with to give me better control.

This could probably be done with a bit more programming on the back end of the DB. Would be similar to the % of a set you have in your collection, but in order for this to be accomplished, we would have to be a bit more strict/stringent on the tagging of cards (RK, AUTO, SN, etc.) in order to have the break down that Ian is showing.
instead of being automatically calculated when you open a player's summary, it could be an "On Demand" feature possible to ease the background calculations.
not sure how everything is set up, so not sure how tough/easy this would be.

Exactly, TCDB is not mine to conform, but I love sharing these ideas because someone is going to come up with something even cooler than what I can dream up and make it a reality.

I was able to run these calculations without any adjustments of the current tags that are in TCDB, I simply exported them to excel and then ran lookups in the Note field.
Here's my basic excel lookup for anything with a MEM tag, I'm not sure how it's translates to TCDB's backend:
=COUNTIFS(FromThisCellNumber:ToThisCellNumber, "*MEM*")
The wildcards front and back allowed for it to be pulled no matter where MEM shows up in the note.
________________________________________________________________________________
The other lookup I did is to grab any MEM that is also a 1/1, so I ran this one:
=COUNTIFS(FromThisCellNumber:ToThisCellNumber,"*MEM*",FromThisCellNumber:ToThisCellNumber,"*SN1")
I wasn't sure if this one would work, but it did, with the wildcard only in the front, it pulls only SN1's, and does not pull any SN1x's.
________________________________________________________________________________
After that it was cake, I just subtracted the 1/1s from the Total card count to get my "Non 1/1 Chase" count.
And yes, I completely agree with the on-demand feature, I think that's the best way it would work here.
