Hey all - I've bene perusing the interwebs and have yet to find a general consensus on 5x7s / boxtoppers. I see many sell on ebay for less than a dollar plus $4 shipping and handling. This includes "base", /49, inserts, and all varieties of different players. So, my sports cards collecting friends, what are your thoughts? Do you like them? Are they cool? Are they cumbersome? Is there excitement towards them when opening hobby boxes?
Thanks for your two cents!

They are just another chase for my player collection. I do get a minor joy out of them.

I don't care for them, don't collect them, would probably sell/trade one if I pulled any even if it was my PC team/players. To me I have a hard enough time trying not to feel like I gotta collect them all so I gotta keep some personal collecting guidelines

I don't generally go out of my way to get them. I've got a few. Main issue is trying to figure out where/how to store them because of the different size. I had a friend who loved them for getting autographs, and I must admit that the larger card seemed to make some players sign a little nicer.

I've heard the "easier and more appealing to autograph" argument. I could definitely see that. What are others' thoughts?

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I like them but they are usually tougher to complete a set and definitely need special pages if you want to put them in a binder.

I don't like that they can't be sorted with the rest of my collection, and they usually arrive to me damaged, with dinged corners and surface scratches common. Other than that, they are just another card to me. Sizes, shapes, and even material are not set in stone, it can vary.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. the first time I saw one, many years ago, I thought cool.
but quickly, I became a hater.
I have about 10 for trade, variety of sets, almost all with dinged corners
