Is this a set of cards, or a list of magazines? I don't think these belong here.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster. |

I absolutely agree, it's a checklist of their weekly magazine. Does not belong on this site.
On another note, Sports Illustrated did produce a 33-card set of auto racing cards in 1979 for use with their USAC Auto Racing game. I didn't see a checklist for that set in the database.

I agree with the original post as well.

That set is definitely missing from the database. I thought it looked familiar though. It looks very similar to the 33-card 1980 Avalon Hill game card set, but it is,enough different that it is definitely its own set.

Avalon Hill produced the game under the Sports Illustrated name.

Makes sense. Did they make sets in multiple years? Your set does not match the checklist I have.

Since the cards were intended for the game, and not for the trading card hobby, sets were produced through 1986 with constant updates/changes. With the exception of the first set produced, there's really no way to have a definitive "yearly" checklist. And I can't say for sure if the set in the photo is absolutely a first edition.

There was a 'set' of Sports Illustrated magazines in the database. The post was in the forum for the specific set. It looks like the set was deleted so the post no longer has the link back to it.

Does this site really include cards intended for game use? If so, my card collection just increased by many thousand cards if I enter all my Strat-O-Matic baseball, football, hockey, and basketball cards. Plus I'd need to add all my cards for Dynasty League Baseball, Statis Pro Baseball, etc. To me those aren't "collectibles" per se though. I don't purchase them for the sake of collecting them. I buy them to enable myself to play a game.
