This is going to be one of those posts where I am going to sound old...

After going through the 2019 Donruss football with my son who loves stats, I was lamenting that the fact that season by season stat lines are a thing of the past in football. At least baseball still has Topps.

I remember the days when the back of the card had all kinds of stats (before the internet - old man rant) when I was a kid.

Which 2019 or 2020 sets produce the best stat lines in each sport?

2020 Topps baseball returned to full stats on the back for the first time in a long time...longer than I can remember, anyway. It's been a while.

Panini is good only for one year of stats no matter the product/sport. I can't remember the last time I saw a full career stats for a player in a Panini product. 

The last NBA set from Panini with full stats was 2012-13 Hoops. 

They have never bothered to put stats on any NASCAR set.

Cards should always have full stats. Companies, mainly Panini, put too much time in to adding additional design elements to the back instead. Just keep it simple and give the collectors what they want.

It's too bad that this has gone to the wayside. The full stats give you a greater appreciation for a players career. There are so many examples of when I have forgotten when a player was on a team, looked at the back of an older card and waxed nostalgia...

When I was a kid (1980's), I always hated the Donruss backs because they only included a few years of statistics.  Topps had the whole career... and I devoured those stats.
