I'm battling my way thru each Fleer Sticker Set. 1982 is a bit tricky, 197 card/stickers  Master Set with many variations. Also unnumbered..#1- I believe following the alphabetize by city is the way to go. Might need a set IR here. #2- Many variations are based on the different puzzle pieces. Many of the stickers presently listed try to use a puzzle description. But what if we can use a numbered grid system. Like below

And Assign each puzzle piece a number. The 1982 Sticker back puzzle pieces are from the 1981 ALL-STAR GAME of 32 pieces.

NOW, I have a completely made, pictured and numbered puzzle in a grid system. BUT, here is the question, where in the set format can this pic be uploaded and displayed?? Comments don't enable pics. OK TCDB techies, any ideas? Maybe a link somewhere?

You can't assign numbers if there are none there.

I'm not sure where you could upload a pic of the completed puzzle, but it would be cool.  Wouldn't really fit in packaging...

The grid I showed above is an example. Picture the complete Puzzle with each of 32 numbers assigned. That  way each piece has a number assigned. The difficulty with the pieces is identifying them. It's so easy this way. I just sorted a whole of these in no time by matching my pieces to the grid. BUT where can the completed pic Puzzle go?

I'm going to try packaging under set. Thanks for the idea.

PLease, let's not suggest assigning numbers to cards that don't have numbers. We'll leave that to the "experts" at another site who are known for monthly price guides. 

#1 - This isn't from a monthly price guide.

#2 - This came from a reputable editors that I have worked with on Fleer Stickers for many years.

#3 - Everybody can reply with great ideas, but most miss the point completely.

#4 - This grid needs to be referenced somewhere on the TCDB. It's obvious that the early contributors had no clue how complicated this
set is.

Making up numbers is something "they" do. We will not do that here.

I know the FSP is very reputable, no issues with them.

I was simply stating something without actually answering your question - I apologize for that. I was hoping to see other ideas floated about before weighing in myself.

Is this set a case where there are multiple puzzle backs on each sticker? (For example, the Phillies logo - does it always have puzzle piece "22" or does it have 4, 15, 22, and 30?)

Maybe this is a case where we document the puzzle set as an insert and order it (as NNO) but in the order you show - and name them 1st row, 1st column, 1st row, 2nd column, or something similar that way. then it would be clear that 3rd row, 5th column is your #21.

I don't think anybody is saying that the number grid isn't helpful.  its a very good way to think about things.   My point is that we can't go assigning numbers to cards that don't have numbers.  These stickers are NNO.

I've always thought and suggested in the past that the database needs a place to show completed card puzzles.  There are many Topps sets in every sport that have puzzle backs, not just stickers. I'd love to be able to look at the completed puzzle image.

I know it might be complicated programming but maybe a special Gallery option for puzzle cards.  Or an exception in the Inserts and Related for the completed puzzle image.
