Lots of things happening in the world of mail. This came on my news feed a couple of days ago, and it will surely be of interest to many here who trade.

Also, I've yet to see how the US decision to remain as part of the UPU affects international mailing. The crux of the threat to leave the UPU was China being allowed to continue with a 3rd World Country designation when they are in fact not so. Apparently they'd been getting breaks in postal rates which had affected competition with US businesses giving the Chinese a distinct advantage over American business. I'd not read anything about what eventually transpired with that, but I also am interested in hearing what the newly negotiated agreement's affect on international mailing will be especially for those of us who deal regularly with Canada, and in my case occasionally with Germany and Australia.

The entire UPU is even more confusing than how the Postal Services in each country within it has become. I see no problems with the new USPS "restrictions" and they don't affect me at all. The only things I mail with stamps alone are just letters. I don't trade cards with PWE's except internationally and then they are going to a PO for shipping anyway. All packages get pre-printed labels at my house and either placed in a drop-box or delivered to a PO. Nothing about that article affects me. I will look on Friday to see if my usual drop-box has added that new sticker though!

NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending a trade or buy offer. _______________________________________________________________________ Largest total PC card collections by Team, then Athlete (as of 3/31/23): STL Cardinals (MLB) - 8700+; Carolina Panthers - 2800+; GB Packers - 1700+ cards Mark Martin (NASCAR) - 2034 cards; Jimmie Johnson (NASCAR) - 1776+ cards; Jeff Gordon (NASCAR) - 1563; Ricky Rudd (NASCAR) - 828; Ozzie Smith (MLB) - 692+

First I went to the USPS website and found nothing about this.
So I search the image of the warning and found it here * posted on Apr 30, 2019. I also found it on another site in a country where my translator could not decipher the language. (chute de neige du toit) < Roof snowfall)?? the only part that translated.
So is this real?? I think not. A change in the USPS for safety. In the scare you news of America. No one is saying anything and I found nothing??

I spoke with the postal clerk that I see frequently as part of my new job and she confirmed it, though, she did say they haven't received the memo, just the word that it's coming.
She explained that packages 13 oz and above that someone uses stamps will be tagged - but that's been that way since 2007 according to the article, so I believe it's 10 oz, but if one uses PayPal Postage or USPS postage purchased online then it doesn't apply no matter the weight. Her words were that "we know what we need to know about who is sending packages when they're purchased online, but not when they use regular stamps."

I always use the kiosk so no problems.
"Consumers can also take advantage of Postal Service self-service kiosks to purchase postage labels and drop those packages into the package slots, not mail slots, at a Post Office."

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

"Chute de neige du toit" is French for "Snow falling from roof." When snow accumulates on the roof, it can suddenly breaks and move down the roof.
