I was watching some videos on U-tube. Then came across this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ut23BhWai8
and at 10:22 "the time stamp on the video." My heart sunk. Millions of sports cards just rotting away on the floor. If I lived there, I would go just to see it with my own eyes and open a few packs. For the curiosity of it and of course the slim chance of finding a card I was missing. After all, the pack they opened in the video looked fine. So not all are decomposing.
After thinking about it and reflecting on the film where that guy wonders why his cards are not worth anything. "I think most of us have seen it" Things like this need to happen and will and maybe in time. The cards we have will be worth 1/2 of what we feel they should be. But the love of the game is the same for the love of collecting and seeing the video is still sad either way.

I guess the auto company's plan to invest in cards didn't quite work out.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

It can be seen earlier in the video, it's the GM Conner Stamping Plant.

I'm surprised there are still cards there. I saw a video a couple years ago of the same plant. The cards were in much better condition back then. It looks like time is taking its toll.
Here's a video from 2016. The card horde is shown at about the 16:00 minute mark.

I wonder if anybody ever tried to salvage the salvagable cards. Those in the closed pack looked ok.

Pretty sure that if there's people to salvage old metal (steel, aluminum, copper pipes and wire), I don't see why they won't touch sports cards found there. I wonder how stored (dumped?) cards there.

Very interesting. Didn't notice anything of value (if there ever was, probably long gone). Hey, just think, if you do own any of those type of cards, they are more valuable, because so many have gone to waste.
