Potentially over $1,000,000 in trimmed cards sold on COMC. Check your accounts if you bought anything from sellers HawkDynasty, cccardfactory, LORDSTANLEY2012. Most likely trimmed if you did.
COMC even promoted a special event around HawkDynasty's graded cards.
Another black eye for PSA and Beckett grading, you can't trust anything...

Disturbing, but I can still trust my own eyes, so far

I just looked through the first page of images of the before and after. Crazy how much was trimmed off some of those cards. When I got to the 1982 Topps Ripken and looked that over something does not look right. I do not think the after card is the same card. Maybe a mistake by the author pairing images or ???? If you want to see it scroll about half way down the page. I see the margins as larger on the after card. All the other cards I saw i have no doubt of them being the same cards. I do not have an account there so I will not be posting any response. I am glad I don't care about slabbed cards nor having 10's. I honestly believe that 10's are given to favored customers more often than the average Joe.

<sigh> Quick question - was it ONLY graded cards involved?

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 10/25/2023). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned off (details are in my profile). I have (finally) unearthed my 2 very large boxes of Star Company minor league sets and they are available (email for details).

No, they have comparison images of non-graded cards that were sold/for sale. They don't know if they attempted to grade them, or if they were returned with a low grade or 'altered' and then broken out of the case and sold as raw.

No, so far much of the investigation has focused on profit margins are proportionally more graded examples. Those who think buying/trading raw is better are delusional.

I only picked up a ¢75 common from that LordStanley feller. Nuthin from hawkdynasty, that promotional sale they ran just seemed to good to be true.
