Just wondering How they fit into the TCDB?
We have a number of them listed across the sports as of now.

I can hazard a guess at this. I'm thinking that if they were inserted with cards or somehow directly associated with cards of some kind, they are probably acceptable here. But if the magnets were their own thing, purchased or sold or given away simply as magnets, they should not be here.
(Don't know where I get this stuff....)

Yup - same as everything else; what the FAQ says. Created by a card manufacturer? In. Inserted in a card product? In. Graded by a grading company? In. Sold via card retailers? In.
Answer no to all of the above and they won't work here under site guidelines. If there are exceptions I'm not aware of, someone please enlighten me - and the membership as a whole.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Three possibilities:
1) They are deemed "card-like" enough (kind of like one-sided pocket schedules) to be excluded from the above rules;
2) They have been granted special "exception status" by Admin, who gets to make those rules;
3) They shouldn't be here and should be removed.
My bet is #1.

Sorry horse, I know you're dead, but I'm being asked to beat you again.
If you come across a set you are unsure of whether it belongs here or not, kindly submit an IR on the checklist or overview page of said set. The only way to get these removed is by going through Admin anyway, and that's where the decision will come from (unless someone who reviews the IR can find sufficient evidence to leave the set per the guidelines). Debate over these sets in the forums will not solve whether they stay or go (because Admin will ultimately decide anyway, regardless of our discussions), and only potentially cause disagreements amongst the members.
Remember, magnets that are shaped like cards, collated into packs (randomly) like cards, and sequentially numbered like cards (with checklists) will probably be treated like cards across the hobby (including potential grading), and will most likely be allowed to stay. On the other hand, magnets that are just variations of team logos or simply player pictures of varying shapes and sizes without numbering or a checklist will probably not be allowed as they do not even resemble cards or sets.
Again, my apologies to the horse.

I have a magnet. Its shaped like a dead horse. Freshly beaten. Also magnets of President & Mrs. Polk on my refrigerator. Could somebody please enter this checklist? Will the magnets ruin my scanner?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I know that there have been some iconic trading cards that are the subject matter for some magnet "sets". I have seen a ton of them on Ebay and it frustrates me when looking for a specifc and valuable card that is often way way too overpriced on the Empty Bay then I see a copy of it for like 5 bucks and see it isn't actually the card but a dang refrigerator magnet of the card.

The card image being used as memorabilia for the collectible.
