What a great response to the thread, thank you guys! Here are my top-10 favorites so far (in no particular order)
You know you’re a card collector when. . .
(1) cnangle: the people at the post office no longer ask you if your package contains anything "liquid, fragile, perishable, or hazardous" because they know it contains cards before you even tell them.
(2) vroomed: when you travel, you look up card shops (or card shows) when and where you'll be.
(3) DocOso: you carry toploaders in your glovebox in case you buy some cards at a random place and you don't want them damaged on the way home.
(4) karsal: you have TCDB open on four devices at the same time.
jimetal7212: Only 4?
(5) Lugnut80: you volunteer to go get the gallon of milk at 8:00 at night because it means you can grab a pack of cards too.
(6) RJ Smith: you have your want list up on one screen and you’re searching on another.
(7) captkirk42: you see a photo of an athlete and think, "Hey that photo is from his 2005 Topps Card."
(8) switzr1: you find the card shop in a new city before you find an apartment, and by the time you find the apartment, you know the dealer well enough that he helps you move in.
switzr1: when that same dealer invites you to his home for Christmas eve dinner, and you recognize the other customers he invited too.
(9) Billy Kingsley: your tablet/smart phone no longer tries to correct names like Porzingis, Ovechkin, or Olajuwon, and also knows that Topps should be spelled with two Ps, and that it, Panini, and Upper Deck should be capitalized.
(10) chvlDm: the "bookshelves" in your house hold cards, not books.
Sportzcommish: Those are cardshelves.
