When you should have been home from work hours ago, and your wife (never once thinking you’re drunk at a bar or having an affair) calls the card shop to tell you to come home.
When drives for family vacations or business trips include at least one stop at a card shop.
When your wife wakes up at 3 AM and, seeing that you’re next to her looking at your phone, says, “Stop looking at card auctions on EBay and go to sleep.”

Peace and cards, David Building up baseball sets slowly but, well, slowly. Residence in New England has no bearing on my favorite teams, players, or how I pronounce "card." Forgave my dad for putting his '52 Mantle in his bike spokes, but not my brother for plastering his room with my Star Wars stickers.

This one reminds me of one I was guilty of:
Setting your alarm for some ridiculous time (I think it was like 2:30 AM) to attempt to win an ebay auction of a 1/1 of a player your wife collects. (Yes, we won it.) (2:30 may not sound that bad, but when you normally have the alarm set for 5:30 for work, 2:30 is nasty.)

LOL Thought of this
When I told my wife's family we were going away for a hotel swap meet and they thought right away it was about cards.
Use guys would show off cards (me a T-209 Ty Cobb batting) and the family would go shopping and lunch, that was when my wife was told my post salutation

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

You know that a shoe box is not for shoes, and you're willing to pay $5.00 for an empty one.

Every time I clear away some cards I end up filling it with more cards that I haven’t entered. It’s a never ending cycle and probably always will be.

Great thread!
When you know what a top loaders, penny sleeves and screw downs are.
When you can't remember your oldest kids birthday, but know your favorite player's.
When your wife wants to know why you never throw out empty shoe boxes or wht you have a collection of 300 used bubble mailers.
