I have two questions regarding adding personal images to my account. I know I can add an autographed photo of a card that already exists in the data base.
Q.#1 Can I change the name of that added personal image?
Example... 1965 Topps #477 Cardinals Rookie Stars changed to... 1965 Topps #477 Cardinals Rookie Stars Autographed.
Q.#2 Can I add images that are NOT in the data base?
Example... an Aceo art card or a postcard.

The name on the card in the database is what will show. You can add to it by adding a comment in the same area where you add your custom image.
You can only upload custom images to items that are in the database.

A personal image (scan/photo/.jpg/.gif file) can be added to any card in your Collection.
Any card in the database can be added to a Users List.
There is no place in the database to store personal images outside cards in your Collection.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Bob, you can't just add a picture you took of your dog to the database. Nowhere to put it. But you might own a Yogi Berra card with fake glasses and mustache that you drew on there as a kid. And you can add said card to your collection, and then upload a scan of your artwork and assign it to that card in your collection. And that's what you will see when you look at your collection. My understanding is that, if you add that card from your collection to a user list, we will all see your specific copy of that card, rather than the stock copy uploaded by random user in 2012 that we would normally see, when we look at your user list only. I think we have some user lists where members display autographs they obtained in person. That's how their copy of the card shows up on the user list rather than the regular image.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

So technically I can pick a card in the data base, (any card) and change the image to a photo of my dog. This new photo will show up in my collection and thus on any list that i create. Hypothetically speaking of course LoL !

Yeah, that seems to sound what spaz is saying. Let's get off my dog and onto a card. Let's say I want to make a collection of Funny Cards I made as a kid. So I make a Collection called Funny Cards, scan my Yogi card, add it to my collection. My Funny Card Collection now shows Yogi [to me only]. However , I can now use my Funny Card scans to add to a User List and everybody would be able to see my childhood artwork called BOBS' FUNNY CHILDHOOD CARD ARTWORK [assuming that interests you], lol. I guess the only trick would be to find a reprentative card, but that shouldn't be an issue?? Sound right?

You wouldn't change the image of the database's card. You would upload (add) the dog photo to your card in your Collection. It wouldn't affect the database card's image. If you add your card to a Users List you create then the dog photo will be seen in the Users List.
You''ll notice on my autographed card of Daryle Lamonica that I have an image of the autographed card as the front image and a picture of Stan Laurel as the back image. My card, in my Collection, my images.
