I'm on a few card collecting sites on facebook and am just shocked at how much money is getting tossed around on cards. I have realized I'm not in the same market as those guys. Just wondering how much some of the community here tosses around on cards annually. Care to admit? I haven't tracked it that closely myself but I'll guess my spending is around $500/year on my hobby. Who else wants to step up and put a number out there?

I'll open up on this...
My wife adds it up for me periodically to remind me. I try to keep it to $100/month. I've totally blown that. I did about $1,700 last year (not counting shipping for trades) and so far did that much already this year. Taking a break from buying until Nov or December. Thankfully a friend owes me some cards and will pay me with a jumbo box of Topps Update. Looking forward to that next month. Also thankful that my wantlist is going down, except it is mostly down to SP and expensive vintage cards.

Okay, I'll confess, and hopefully my wife doesn't read this post.
I spend approximately $100 a month, sometimes more, and not too often, a little less. I get paid twice a month and take fifty dollars out each time for cards. When I go to the card shows, I usually stop by the ATM machine for an extra $100. I haven't kept track but probably about $1500/1600 a year.
I rationalize it by telling myself, I don't drink or smoke and there's worse things I could spend my money on. I figure that once I retire and have to live on a more fixed income I'll cut back..... maybe. At least I'm leaving a nice collection for my son. Thankfully he loves card collecting also.

About $2000 a year here. Maybe $3000 if I am totally honest .............. was is that $250 a month? CDN $$$$ of course. But then again I use to spend $6500 a year smoking so my wife has zero problem with a hobby that costs half as much! =D

I used to just spend a bit when I felt like it. But when I got a new job four years ago, I set myself a budget, which has actually led to me spending more than I used to. I keep to it pretty well. So I can tell you exactly how much I've spent for each of the last four years. I don't count gifts, of course. So, for the very curious, here are details:
2015: budget: $600; actual spending: $571.41
2016: budget: $600; actual spending: $533.16
2017: budget: $720; actual spending: $755.13
2018: budget through September: $562.50; actual spending: $543.46.
I figure it's less than my wife spends on piano lessons. When my starting daughter graduates from college in two years, I'll move the budget up from the $750/year I've set now.

I would say right now 20 dollars a month is my max. I used to spend a lot more, but we are currently a one income household until my son starts school in a few years. My wife and I usually go to Target on Friday afternoons and I usually look at the cards. Been sticking to just the occasional rack pack right now.

I don't pay a lot of attention because I don't purchase much, I would guess about $50-75 a month maximum, so maybe $900-1,000 a year. I probably should set a budget and pay attention so I have a better idea of how I do.

I would say on average about 5-10 a week at target, cause I usually by a pack on Fridays at target. I’ll pick an occasional hangar or blaster maybe once a month. I make one or two Dave and Adams trips a year, usually those are about 100 bucks. Then I’ll buy one or two online orders at Dave and Adams for about 200 to get the free shipping. So my eatimate would be about 500-600, give or take.
