First off - it's not with anyone on this site (that I know of).
So Thursday (4/5/18), I win this auction on ebay: 1988-1991 Donruss Fleer Topps Rack Pack LOT OF 70 WITH STARS SHOWING
Yeah, nevermind the contents - it was cheap as heck, and I thought why not - Shipping is $4, and I won the auction at $1.25. So 70 rack packs for $5.25 is seven and a half cents per rack pack. I figure it's worth it. Even it's just for the fun of it.
Anyway, I got a tracking number and positive feedback from the seller earlier on Friday (4/6/18). Then, in the early evening, I receive an e-mail that my payment has been refunded. No explanation, no nothing.
I sent a message to the seller later in the evening (around 11:00 PM EDT) on Friday.
Obviously, it's very early in the process, but I wanted to keep you all posted, in case you ever felt like purchasing something from this seller. (If you click the link, you'll see who the seller is.) I will update as info becomes available.

Everything about that auction listing is weird. It doesn't really say there are 70 rack packs. It just says lot of 70. That could mean 70 cards. And the photo is no help. Not a picture of a rack pack at all. Everything else they have listed has photos that make sense for the listing, this one doesn't. Any listing they have with the word LOT in it shows a photo with multiple items. Can't find another listing of his with Rack Pack LOT in the listing anywhere either.

I've bought from them before, but it's been a while. Seems condition was less than expected a couple times, and they were kind of slow shipping. Sort of on my stay away from list, unless I can't get it anywhere else. Their feedback has certainly gone downhill. Good luck.

I looks like the person wouldn't care one way or another what kind of feedback you leave (bad or neural). He refunded your money. If it were me. I would just be good with that and move on.

I have had that happen on a couple of occasions with eBay as well. Both refunded and never a reply to a message since. Was just happy I got my money back! Who knows the reasons.

With an auction like that I don't think I would have bid. The picture just shows what looks like a Fleer Giants sticker, maybe even a cloth sticker. It might be the seller realized that they goofed on the auction because the title and pics don't match up. Way too many Ebay sellers don't double check when they post listings. It is way too easy to make a "sell similar" listing, change the title but not change the images (or vice versa). I know many Ebay sellers (a few on other card forums) will only list when they get special emails telling them they get 100+ free listings for auctions listed within a certain time frame. Usually around some holiday or season change.

Looking at the feedback, I'd have to agree with FinestKind. At least you got your money back! I would certainly NEVER deal with this "company". They are kind of in the "hidey-hole" with their feedback. You would expect the number to be less than 100% after 300K+ feedback b/c some poeple are just too nitpicky. BUT, all of the negatives say basically the same two things to me. Horrible communication and poor shipping practices!!! As their site lists that they are into consignments, that might be where a bunch of their pull-backs and refunds are happening. They are trying to sell cards for others that don't want to sell them at the price where they are ending. No contact after the fact is part of the problem with them. The other part is how they aren't setting a minimum acceptable bid. This company seems to have no clue how to work currently. It seems to me that the company started out awesome but was "handed-down" or inherited by someone who doesn't know what they are doing.
I saw the same type of thing when one of my step-brothers inherited his father's concrete company (my step-dad's company and my first job long before I could legally work in the state). My step-brother had no real idea of what he was doing and drove the company into the ground. I could've done a better job with the company, even without knowing how to operate the big equipment. I knew the rules and measurements allowed by the state, but never used any of the vehicles (Dump truck, backhoe, Bobcat, etc.). He didn't know anything, except how to make them move. After a half-dozen measurement mistakes that forced him to re-do the jobs for free, he had to sell a quarter-million dollars worth of equipment to keep from losing money. It only took him about 18 months to fail! He even came to me about one job he did and asked how it was wrong. He poured a sidewalk for a medical facility and it was only 24 inches wide. It's simple! The minimum width is 36" (3 feet or almost one meter). All you need to think about is a person in a wheelchair. That won't fit inside of a 2ft. wide anything. Even a door has to be at least 3ft. wide, unless it's a closet.
Some people just don't know what they are doing and don't try to figure it out!

I agree with you too. But they could have canceled the listing before it ended. If they didn't notice until after the auction ended, they could at least contact the buyer to explain why they are issuing a refund. I don't see why they would not double-check the listing before actually posting it though. So many sellers on ebay have just gotten so sloppy over the past year that I hardly even go there anymore. It helps explain the flood of commercials Ebay has been putting out on TV lately though.

When I read such stories, I am so happy I don't do ebay anymore.
