I know you said modern. But if you want assets you need to go with prewar cards. Like Old Judge, T206, Coupon, General Baking, Strip cards, Ramley, T205
they seldom go down in value if taken care of and they go up in value sometimes double when they hit the 100 year mark and the 110. Im waiting on 2029 to 2031 for the T206 cards because if the trend follows they will be going up again.
modern cards are very tough to say its like a Rulette Wheel. The player gets caught with drugs, gets arrested for what ever reason or unexpected death or he slacks off his standard the cards flop like a fish out of water. If i Gamble it 5 card stud, 7 card stud, Texas Hold’em or Blackjack.
I can go back to 2011 Mike Trout in 2011 you couldnt give his cards away but in 2013 you cant find his RCs anywhere and if you your going to pay out the nose. So collect dont invest if you dont have the patience and dont invest unless you have the money.
