I assisted someone last week who was new to TCDB and was using a FB group. While this may take some time to set up its really worth it when you have everything added to your "Collection" (Cards that are in your collection that you do not want to trade or you do not need), your "Want List" (Cards that you are seeking) and "Trade List" (Cards you have up for trade.) If you go to a particular set and click the drop down next to the card number, you will see that it will give you options to add this card to one of those three areas. When you have this completed you can use the trade matching feature to see what others have to that you need and what you have to trade in exchange. You can then propose a transaction and both parties can counter. There are two really important steps to this...stay organized, even with the cards you want to trade so you can easily find them and not disappoint someone because you cannot find a card on your trade list.
You mentioned that you want to trade for 2023 Topps and back...start with adding all the 2023 Topps that you have already to your "add to collection" and then add all the cards you want to trade to your trade list..."add to for sale trade". Once done, you can use the drop down at the top to add all the missing cards to your want list "add all missing cards without (or with) variations to want list" and poof...that set is done and you are ready move on to 2022 and so on...start with small chunks and reorganize your collection while doing so, so again, you are organized. Eventually you will learn tips and tricks that will help speed up the process and other features within this site that might make locating a particular odd ball card easier.
Once you have a few sets entered you will want to learn the trade process and I would recommend you visit the FAQs for assistance and hopefully the first trade partner you have will kind of guide you through the process to make it a easier. Its rather simple, just not as straightforward as new users may think it will be.
Also understand that some people will be short with you for asking questions...do not let that keep you from asking questions...many members are here to help and understand that new users do not know all the ends and outs of this site which is an amazing tool for those trying to build sets!
This is all high level, but this should get you going in the right direction!
