Its tough. All walks of life are involved in everything; some might have life in the way, some might just be jerks.

I'm with the majority that I prefer a note or explanation, and it may annoy me for a few seconds. But I try not to take it personally and I don't have a list of who has declined without comment. Odds are good I'll forget and send over a new offer in a few days anyways. No harm done.

Well said and absolutely spot on! I've been declining the same types of offers. In my decline messages, I've explained the same thing over and over again. LOOK AT THE RED AND GREEN NUMBERS!!! (not in that blunt of a tone, of course. Maybe that blunt tone is required to get the message through?) I'm not trading away insert cards, even the junk wax era ones, where I'm the only one offering them on the site in exchange for cards that are offered by 300+ members on this site.
Also, most of these trade proposals are coming in with NO message attached. I'm getting to that point where if I receive trade proposals without a message, why can't I decline without a message as well? I always make it a point when I send off a trade proposal to 1) Address the member properly who I'm proposing to with a "Hello". 2) Followed up that hello with a statement of what I want to accomplish in the trade. "I want to send you this in exchange for that..." It's common courtesy. The message box is there to state the intent of your trade proposal. Use it!

Heck! There's one trade that I politely proposed that has been agreed to. I shipped out my end of it on January 18th and it showed up on their doorstep on January 23rd. I have messaged this individual twice since then regarding their end of the deal and I have as of yet to receive a response to my inquiries. This individual has been on the site since then and posted in at least one thread. I'm not sure what their problem is, but it would be nice to receive a response to my questions since they agreed to the trade. This person was also up for Rookie of the Year for last year. I'm doing all I can to be patient, but at this point it's going on two and a half weeks since the proposal was accepted.

I try my best to give a reason when I decline.
My most common reason to saying no is that I have a some cards on my trade list that belong to my kids so I have to sometimes turn down trade because they said no, even if it's a trade I would have considered. Their cards, their rules.
If a trade comes in I don't like, I'll usually look at the person's trade list and see if there's something I would prefer over what they picked. If I don't have a lot of time and I don't see anything, sometimes I will decline without comment but I try not to do that.
The only time I usually always turn down a trade without comment is when it is way off, where they ask for something higher end and try to do a 1 for 1 trade with junk era commons.

I've had a few declines...usually when I try to put together a trade late at night and do something stupid. I rarely propose trades though so I'm sure others have more experience with this. I've declined maybe 3 and add a note as to why. I'm pretty easy going on trades. If I have cards you need and vice versa, I'm game for just about any trade. I have 6 monster boxes of FST cards and am happy to send them where they're needed.

I've been guilty of proposing (what I later determine to be are) stupid trades, after going back and comparing lists. However, there is a counter offer feature that it seems most users do not use. To reiterate what others have mentioned in this thread, if you have cards in your trade list and are not completely satisfied with the original proposal, it helps to flip a few cards around within the transaction and give that a try.

People do decline offers I have sent to them that they give no explanation. However, I just delete and keep moving. Most this past month I've been working 6 to 7 days non stop as infection levels of covid have gone up so I for one am exhausted. I am usually always logged in and enjoy reading..
I am going to enjoy this coming week.. I have a short shift of only 36 hours :) not 65 so hoping some trades come my way

What has happened to me lately, is I'll propose a trade and after several days of waiting the other person doesn't decline they withdraw it. I thought only the trade proposer could withdraw the trade. I didn't read every response so I don't know if this has been discussed but that drives me nuts! I've been guilty of proposing not so great trades and I've been guilty of accepting not so great trades (doh!). I do agree with those of you who are irritated as hell for getting no communication when a trade sits on someone's list for days! Anyway, I pride myself on communication and replying at least within 24 hrs, so if we have a match let's make a trade!

Generally a decline without reason or no message/ghosting for a month adds them to my block list. I work hard to offer a good value for trades, and if I get straight declined I probably wouldn’t want to work with them anyhow. No skin off my back.
