Once more, again and always the eternal procrastinator or whatever my dilemma can be termed as is seeking answers to the card life.
Having way more cards than sense I/we have to decide soon how to present an insane amount of inventory in the least possible time,
because i am certainly not getting younger, work way too many hours at a regular job and dont want to leave an s-load of possibly burdening cards on my better half.
SO please please help if you know the secret or a suggestion,
Here is a small list of possibilities please feel free to weigh in on which 1 you are ok with, not good with etc.
1) list just a description of the card no image(except for older and condition sensitive issues)
2) Just an image with no description just an inventory position as if you just showed up at a card show and started turning pages or digging into a box
3) The one we really are trying to avoid because of the time factor all-dressed with images and description.
Thank you for any and all input as there are currently more cards in bulk form(99%) than available for sale on site.(which needs to change hopefully)
Steven

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking of us on TCDB. You have a "store", at least an online one anyway. I say keep doing what you have been doing. If that is not enough, you need to look farther than what you've been doing for a couple of years now. I can't give you any more info since you have done pretty much everything that can be done. I personally wouldn't have even gone as far as you have to sell cards. I sell a little at a time, but I don't search for those sells. I let everyone find me and that has worked well for over a decade, but I don't sell much and I'm not looking to sell a bunch at one time anyway. I ONLY sell cards on here and everything I have is listed on here. I get much better prices on TCDB than if I listed the cards on other sites. I only ask for offers and I do not price anything I own on this site. Everything in my FS/T List is available in any way and people only have to make an offer on them (cash or trade). That has worked very well for me so far.

Looking for the easiest way to list almost 5 million cards, I have been leaning towards TCDB for a while because listing in any form other than a checkbox can be long when including an image and a full description.
Was wondering if 1 could get away with cutting a corner, but as you have now 3rded an opinion in the same direction TCDB(right here) may be the way to go.
Foregoing a price will definitely save time, just need to check a box and add an inventory position and just may be good to go!
Thank you kindly for weighing in!!
Very much appreciated & have a great day!

I will assume a lot of these 5 million cards are commons. Frankly, if you are wanting to move inventory quickly pack them up in large count boxes and sell them locally or if you sell them on line sell for enough to cover shipping. The bottom line is that they will never be worth the time it would take to list them in any manner. I too have a ton of cards sitting around unlisted but I haven't reached the point of being ready to rid myself of them but when I am they will just be put in large boxes and sold at next to nothing to clear them out. I imagine they could be given away too so that may happen too. The key is what I bolded above.

It isn't a "critical" rush and it certainly has never been about the money, it was more of creating an affordable
presence for the hobby where it isn't overly labour intensive especially nowadays that the average salaries are probably near 20$ an hour(Canadian).
And the gas ewwww.

I'll try and answer the original question in the spirit that it was asked...please bear in mind that this is coming from someone who has been trading cards online since the days of dial-up.
A text list of card inventory is easier to to browse and search than unsorted & unlabled pictures. Text lists worked fine for many years before scanners were common. I have found it difficult to peruse large disorganized 'buckets. Remember when COMC was in 'card show mode' after losing the rights to use Becket's checklist? That was a pain!
That said, I think that listing cards here on TCDB works far better than any of the older ways. If ticking the boxes here works for you, go for it. One method I use to save work is; I don't list multiples. If I have a card available for trade, I put it on my FS/T list. When I'm pulling cards for a trade, if I have another one available I hit the 'add another to FS/T list' button at that time. Not that I have this problem, but this would be one way to avoid the glitches that happen with super-large inventories in the database.

The Shopify interface is also time consuming to use for buyers. I think that you should go with:
1) a list by set without image: simply something like "2022 Topps Base Set Baseball - Available cards: #1, 2, 4, 6, 7..." It can be an excel file pasted to your site or build a grid of numbers from 1 to a 1000 and copy it for each set and then remove all the numbers you don't have or don't exist and that way you won't have to rewrite everything each time.
or
2) ask for your buyers want lists (what they're ready to buy and how much they're willing to pay (number of cards at 10 cents), then search what you have without having to list everything currently unlisted.
My two cents.

Thank you all so much for the input, thoughts and 2 cents.
Looks like we will be bringing the inventory here to TCDB and getting rid of the website in the near future.
Aside from the easier way to list, saving time, we will no longer have to pay for the platform, www. web address and SSL certificate.
Maybe i can finally stop procrastinating myself to.....uhh maybe not
Thanks again!!
