Buy/Sell/Trade Forum

  I have a few cards from this set, from when I was 15. I would like to add to it. For sale or trade, I have complete Topps baseball sets: 1978, 1980, 1984 and 1987. These are sets I purchased on Ebay awhile back, which were put together by the sellers.

   I would like to either sell the sets, should anyone on here be interested and use whatever proceeds to fill in the '73 set. They are currently in 800 ct cardboard storage boxes. If I sell them, whether on here or somewhere else, what would be the fairest shipping method for the buyer? Priority flat rate? I can't afford free shipping, but I don't want any buyers to have to pay too much either.

   I've never traded cards on here, but if I went that route, would I have to buy a bunch of plastic sleeves and card holders to ship  them? I have some lying around, but not that many.

Also, I have a bunch of 73s available is you decide you want to try to keep your existing sets and just start building '73.

For shipping sets, I have found it best to sell then in trios, and send them in a Large Priority Mail Flat Rate Box - long form - the ones specifically made to ship board games. They work best, and the price at that point (for 3 sets) isn't too bad per set.

Dan, I just looked online and apparently the USPS has discontinued the big flat rate game baxes. Thanks for answering me.

The padded flat rate envelopes are cheaper than the flat rate box. As long as the sealing flap closes properly, whatever fits will ship. That's an Amazon #10 box full of cards:

That '73 set is one of my favorites and one of the harder ones to find cards for...  I'm doing similar with early '70s sets right now and you can find some decent lots posted on eBay and Marketplace if you watch for them diligently.

I'm considering taking in ANY cards for some of these sets regardless of condition and then upping the grade of card as I find replacements, and moving the lower grade in trade or resale.  Just my $.02
