Buy/Sell/Trade Forum

I've never done 3-way trades on TCDB but I have done them online before. It is a LOT of work for the middle man to work out the details though. That person has to be REALLY involved in the entire trade process on both sides of the deals. It is a lot of work that many people here don't seem to want to do. Most traders here seem to only want to do PWE trades or at least simple ones. I don't do PWE at all, but I still prefer simple trades (just with lots of cards). A 3-way trade is not impossible here, it just takes a lot of work to set it up and then more time with shipping to get all the cards to all the members of the trades. I've even done trades where I bought something (or another trader did) just to round out the trade b/c the one wanting the card that was bought couldn't afford to buy cards. Then we all just swapped cards until everything evened out. It's complicated and only someone REALLY dedicated to getting a specific card by any means would go for it. You would have to find that person wanting the card and then find the person that has the card and wants something from you. It gets complicated fast and if communication falters for a few hours, the deals might not happen. Much easier to keep it simple here.

I've been thinking about this for awhile but haven't done it because it did seem to be very difficult. I would have to match someone's fs list to anothers want list. Then the 3rd party's fs list to the 2nd party's want list. Plus my fs and want lists with each of theirs. Sounds like a spreadsheet would be required. But it may be worth it for the oddball card only a few have.

I do a version of this regularly. Sometimes when I trade here, I will look through the other person's inventory to see if I can find a hit for another friend. Then just send to other friend as gift.

I've considered this in a couple of instances where the primary member seems to ignore my offers and emails but it's obvious he's trading because there's feedback from recent transactions. I just haven't gone to the trouble of including a third party to facilitate this.

I remember being the middle man in one we did with another member. Can't remember who it was, though.

I've been middle man in a couple of others, too. 

I once did something similar. Not exactly a three-member trade, but I sent some cards to a member in CAN, he purchased some cards from eBay for me and had them sent to me since he didn't have anything I was interested in. I think that deal had worked pretty well also. Would be pretty interested in three member deals here but not currently ready to take on the extra tasks of making it work until I get a few other transactions sorted out.
