I have been enjoying cataloging my collection on this site quite a bit. I was curious if there was even a POSSIBLITY that there might be someone interested in taking it off my hands for somewhere around half of the mentioned median value of it. I still have over 10k more cards uncataloged so just curious on the possibilities. I'm naive so please be nice. :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to the Database.
To be honest it might be difficult to dump your entire collection fast or to just one collector/member here. You might have to end up lotting it out over a bit of time. Even though you have been a member of this site for about a year this is your first post/thread. Other members here don't know you or if you are reliable or even honest. To everyone else you could be one of those scammers who trolls card sites, makes a nice looking offer for some sweet cards and then end up taking the money and running.
Here are some things you could try:
- Make a Trade/Sale list here in your collection
- Get involved in some of the thread conversations, post a member introduction post tell us about yourself and mention some of the cards you have to offer
- Make some specific offer posts in the for sale section. Post a set, or a lot with an enticing offer, or offer up a sweet rookie card or a desirable super star card.
- Spend some time looking at member's wantlists and compare them to cards you have. Then send them an offer and negotiate if you have to.
Maybe one or more of those might help.

I will add that in my opinion if you are using the pricing here a more realistic value on the sale of your collection might be in the 10%-20% range of what the site is saying the value is. Good Luck.

I should also ask roughly where are you located? You never know, a member close enough might be willing to meet up and look at your collection and make you an offer.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I appreciate your feedback and completely understand the points.
Captkirk42, I haven't been very active in the community because I'm not very knowledgeable, just utilizing the AMAZING database. I'll look into being more active. Thanks man.
Bswagger, that does make sense. I felt like it was inflated on a bit but I wasn't entirely sure. I live in Richmond, VA.

Since I am only about a 4-hour drive from you, I checked out your collection that is listed. It's an interesting collection with some good stuff in there. However, I've acquired over 70,000 cards in the past 2.5 years that mostly cover the same years as the majority of your collection. Also, I have zero interest in obtaining about 3200 Gaming cards. There is some cool stuff that I'd like to have, but not enough to be willing to take the whole thing and especially not right now. But there are many other collectors on here that are not located too far from you to consider your collection. Good luck.

One thing to keep is mind is that individual card prices are only for an idividual card. The more cards you package together, the easier it is for you the seller but also the bigger discount that you have to give the buyer. Buying a full set and breaking them up and selling all of them individually will always get you more money. It will also take you a lot more time and effort and it may be very difficult to sell all of them. So you can't just add up the individual prices of all the cards to get the set price.

Spaz-when I looked it crossed my mind that splitting the gaming from the rest might make sense because there are a lot of sports card collectors that might not be interested in gaming.

I agree with that. Also, many Gaming collectors wouldn't want all the sports cards either. Oddly, I was a little intrigued by the non-sport cards.
