Ron, yes you and a few others, I don't need an ID or Trade # to know what trade has come in. But most of us have ID that are not evident to our name. I also use return address labels that were created for my ex-wife nad my daughter (surprised no one has mentioned it before).
Parsley24, in what order you pull your cards is no matter to this problem. I too pull them in a somewhat random order because I have them sorted and stored by company, year, set, #. So when I start into the Bowman cards being asked for, I pull all the years of the Bowmans. In this latest trade, that was from 1993 to 2020. Then I pull the next company, and so on and so on. But when I am done, I do two things whether it is a trade of 6 cards or of 500 cards. I count them to make sure that I did not miss any (today, when I pulled the Bowman 2020 cards out, I had missed one and only discovered it because the count was not right), and second, I put them in the order of the transaction list, checking them off as I go to make sure they are all there and that I did not duplicate any.
In the trade that I received that caused me to post my original post, though the member may have counted the cards, 18 to match the number in the trade, he did not pick up that there were 2 of the same card in his pull and one was missing. So now I have an extra 1994 UD Minor league card up for trade. I already have some 400k cards to trade; last thing I need is to add more in trade. Worse is that when I notified him about the error, I got no response or apology.
I am not saying we don't all make errors but if there is a system in place to avoid some errors, then we should use it. And if we still make an error, then acknowledge it and make it right. Had he at least acknowledged it, I would have been satisfied. But like one other who never acknowledged the fact that he had sent me a card that had been separated from a brick and had very visible damage, I rather not trade with such people who cannot at least show proper manners.
