Does anyone have any input as to the best or most reputable card grading services to use? Beckett? KSA? PSA? Others I don't know about?

I've never graded cards but always heard Beckett for current and psa for vintage. And that others don't bring the value psa and Beckett do.

I use PSA. I started grading Cards 2 years ago. I sent in 9 2011 Topps Update Mike Trouts. I got back 7 GEM MINT 10 so I was very happy. I contacted Beckett about grading and it was $30 per Card where PSA was $20 per Card. PSA to my knowledge is just as reputable. I joined PSA and take advantage of Membership Perks. This weekend I am sending in 50 Cards from 1972-2016. I get those graded for $10 each because of Bulk and Ungraded Value must be less than $99. That is always available to members. I am also sending in 20 plus Cards 1969 or earlier. They are $8.50 each because of Bulk but that promotion only lasts until 9/30. PSA has Bulk perks that only apply to Members and Quarterly promotions that only Members receive. With a Membership you get so many Free Vouchers which pays for the Membership Fee.

For vintage, PSA for sure. On modern, its more for preference on what slab you like better. A PSA 10 is worth more than a BGS 9.5, but is harder to get. A BGS 10 is worth more than a PSA 10, but is near impossible to get. I personally am a PSA guy, and sent in 60 cards at the end of August

Is the general purpose of grading cards to sell at a higher price or do you (the "you" being anyone who wants to respond) grade for your personal collections?

I do both. I grade Cards for my PC and I will Grade a Card that I'm not interested in just to sell for a Better Price.

I use SGC personally. Although I am not a fan of their recent switchover just to match everyone else on the 1 to 10 scale. I will but PSA if older and decently priced , and will buy beckett graded only if an absolute steal of a deal.

Got my collection kind of split up in 3 places in two seperate states. So I am willing to trade but might take me a bit to find the cards from my Trade / Sell list. So please message me first so that I can take some time to find the cards you would be interested in. Whether it's an hour or 2 months or etc. I would get back to you after locating the card or cards.

If your selling PSA will get you the most money most likely.

I like GMA. They are now $5.00 a card. If you are selling you don't get quite as much as a PSA card but you still get higher than if it wasn't graded at all. They also get your cards back to you a lot faster than PSA or Beckett. They offer discounts for bulk cards also.
