Sorry - hit the wrong key...
The problem is that I now have a large amount of duplicate cards that I don't want or need and am not sure what to do with them.
I am wondering if there is anyone else who might be interested in getting rid of their unwanted junk baseball cards and making a trade for a similar amount of unsorted loose cards from the 80-90s?
Or maybe I should just give them back to Goodwill which is where they came from.
Any advice or suggestion would be appreciated.

Welcome to the hobby. That is a great way to start. If you are talking the late 80s and 90s that are really cheap the cards really aren't worth the cost to ship them anywhere. I have tons sitting in boxes but if I decided I needed the space I would just donate them back to the charity you got them from and picked what you wanted. We have a member here who not too long ago gave cards like this away in bulk if you were willing to pay the postage and shipping.

Another option, depending on where you live, is to put them on Craigslist for dirt cheap. I did this myself last winter, asking for half a penny a card, and I let folks know that I had already picked through it for stars and certain teams. Sold them in less than a day, didn't have to worry about shipping costs, got some cash, and cleared out a ton of space. Only downside is that I did this shortly before discovering this site and I wiped out most of my trade capital!

Would love to trade away my duplicates from this era. Would like to see you upload your duplicates and we can trade for what we need. Issue with me doing a bulk trade of cards from this era is that I already have most of the cards from then, as is the case with many collectors on the site.

I came across a guy on Twitter the other day @commons4kids takes donations and gives them to needy kids. I haven’t had a chance to send him any yet but it looks like a good deal

I will check him out - Thanks. That sounds better than sending them back to Goodwill.

There are many on here that are still looking for some of these cards. For example, I'm looking for all the ERR/VARs so I can complete master sets or 91T Dark Logo backs. At the same time, I've gotten plenty of trade requests from people looking for commons from this periods, usually to fill out team sets. You never know.

I will enter duplicates into the database as I can but acquired alot of cards before finding this site. Had I found the site before organizing my collection I would have come up with a more efficient process to enter dupes along with the stuff I want to keep. As it is I am still learning my way around the database and still have a fairly large backlog of cards to enter - but am looking forward to more nights/weekends of entering cards while watching/listening to the Phillies continue to surprize everyone by winning more games than they lose.
