Finally a card of the day that I have in my collection. Batting practice photographs need to come back, like now.

Good question. The photo was probably taken during 1984 Spring Training so the number would be whatever he finished the 1983 season at. Still early enough that most people weren't even thinking he could possibly contend for the consecutive games record. Actually I wonder when the people keeping track of the stats considered it.
