AS PER THE ABOVE, THE REAL PROBLEM WHEN DISCUSSING PLAYERS WHO WERE DONE IN FIRST HALF OF LAST CENTURY IS SO FEW PEOPLE REMAIN ALIVE NOW WHO ACTUALLY EVER SAW ANY OF THEM PLAY IN A LIVE GAME WHERE WE WITH AN INTEREST ARE NOW AT THE POINT WHERE THOSE OF US OF A CERTAIN AGE FROM 1945 TO THE PRESENT DAY ARE RELYING ON RETOLD STORIES, OLD FILMS , BOOKS , MAGAZINES AND SUCH AS TO WHO WAS WHO AMONGST THE GREATEST OF THE GAME - MYSELF, I BEGAN SPEAKING WITH BALLPLAYERS, HOCKEY AND FOOTBALL TYPES AS WELL AT THE AGE OF 6 AND AM NOW 76.6 YEARS OF AGE SO ACTUALLY KNEW, MET AND OR SAW A GOOD NUMBER WHO DEPARTED THE SCENE FROM THAT\ POINT GOING FORWARD.
