Trying to collect every card for the Philadeplphia Flyers. Lofty goal and a long way to go. The thrill of the hunt.

Brings me back to a day when collecting cards was actually about collecting cards. Gum stains and all.

Interesting that without the license they didn't use the logo, but still used the team nickname and not just the city.

One of the all-time classic Super Bowl moments in my opinion is Garo's pass attempt. Love this card and the facemask!

I met him on a golf course back in the early 2000s when I was a young reporter. He was a super nice guy and much shorter than I had expected. It was an odd day with Red Schoendienst driving me around in a golf cart so I could interview Garo, Len Dawson and Bob Feller. It was a golf invitational for a cell phone company but it could also pass as a decent dream. ;)

My dad was a Rams season ticket holder back in '72 and was able to buy two Super Bowl VII tickets at the LA Memorial Coliseum. He had my brother and I go to that game where we saw Garo's infamous "kick". (btw, ticket face value was $15.)
