Do you suppose the Oakland Oaks used oak wood for their bats? American Batsmith says, "Hickory, and to a lesser degree oak, were the woods of choice in the early years of the game."

I love to see the vintage stuff especially because it was not made to last so seeing it in any shape is always a treat

A great fondness for the football exhibits, extended into baseball recently. They may be the "affordable" option but there's still so much great history that's well enjoyed within each. One day I'll sell my right arm to afford the missing 2 of 4 Steelers!
