Do you suppose the Oakland Oaks used oak wood for their bats? American Batsmith says, "Hickory, and to a lesser degree oak, were the woods of choice in the early years of the game."

I love to see the vintage stuff especially because it was not made to last so seeing it in any shape is always a treat

A great fondness for the football exhibits, extended into baseball recently. They may be the "affordable" option but there's still so much great history that's well enjoyed within each.
