Such a sweet card.  The White Sox would win the AL East in '83 with Burns posting a bWAR of 2.1.

I was a little boy in Birmingham, Alabama, when Britt was pitching for Huffman High School. He was so dominant, his ERA as a senior was 0.00. I'm sure he got some help from the scorekeeper, but he was an outstanding pitcher. We were proud of what he accomplished in the majors: one All-Star game appearance, two seventh-place finishes in Cy Young voting. Tt's a shame he hurt his hip. That torpedoed his career after six years in the White Sox rotation.

Perfection.  Awesome design, borders, color scheme, uniform. Also, good underappreciated pitcher.  This card does a great job helping to keep his legacy alive.  This is one a my favorite things about baseball cards.

1980 (3rd AL ERA)
1981 (5th AL ERA,2nd AL K's)
1985 (3rd AL W's,6th AL K's)

First year that I got a Traded set before getting any of the base set. Life's weird sometimes. I liked the set overall though.

Burns pitched a heck of a game in '83 ALCS game 4. Memories of Tito Landrum and Jerry Dybzinski.
