Set: Pacific Adrenaline (Rate)

Card: #97 Bill Schroeder

“ Too much empty space on the back. Looks nice otherwise. ” -pugchump

“ This card breaks the one rule I have in collecting. The team logo and uniform that the person is shown wearing do not match. I do not collect such cards....blech. ” -Gunny
  2
“ Pacific was famous for putting players on cards in the wrong uniform. Even more annoying were the memorabilia cards with the players in their new team uniforms and the relic from their previous. ” -hamrlik22
  7
“ Not a high quality card ” -tinyshogun
  1
“ Nice looking card I don't recall seeing these before. Might have to try finding some that fit my collection criteria. ” -captkirk42
  1
“ It's a very simple design that is pleasing . . . All info is there but it is not overdone . . . Too often, designs seem "cluttered" , , , This one doesn't . . . ” -georgecf
  1
“ Pacific. Awesome. I like it! ” -switzr1
  2
“ If you look through the set, the backs of these cards have a “puzzle” background. I bet they look great (or at least intelligible) in a 9 card binder, but looking at these cards individually is horrific. ” -Tscastle

“ Pacific did put out some nice sets. This is one of there better efforts. ” -Brendan Barrick

“ I enjoy this design as much as Bill liked going across the middle. ” -BigDaddy
  1
“ The kid who played the piano in a charlie brown christmas?? ” -BuccaneersDen
  1
“ Being a Bear fan, this card is 2 times worth not getting it! ” -TwinKiller
  4
“ First time I am saying I am not thrilled with a Pacific design. I love when a name comes up that you haven't heard for a long time. This guy had some really nice games. ” -muskie027

“ The logo strip at the top just looks weird. Looks like the top border of a 5 year old child's room in suburban Detroit. Take that away and not a bad card. ” -hiflew

I think this guy cost me a fantasy championship or two. Or maybe it was some other Green Bay and/or Detroit receiver.

I've never been much a fan of the airbrushing and hiding of logos, but I'll take it over the cognitive dissonance here.

Bill Schroeder was awful as a Lion.  Got the nickname "alligator arms" because he would short-arm passes across the middle.  Lions added Bill and Az Hakim in the same offseason to bolster the receiving group and I must admit they DID improve their record from 2-14 to 3-13.  Bill was also part of the infamous Marty Mornhinweg OT game in Chicago where the Lions won the toss and elected to defend the side with the heavy wind instead of taking the ball.  I hate the Lions.

The border dominates the card and the back is bland.

The logo at the bottom is nice, but why put an unnecessary logo parade at the top. SMH at some of Pacific's design choices over the years...

Bill Schroeder owns a quirky piece of NFL history that might win you a trivia contest someday.

Schroeder is the only player in NFL history to gain precisely 999 yards receiving or rushing in a single season.

You're welcome :-)
