The TV show was WAY better than any card sets that were made based on the show! But this set is actually based on the movie. Topps really didn't put any thought or initiative into this product at all. They only saw dollar signs and that is clearly evident with every single card having the same photo on the front and back of every card. Through the looking glass as to what Topps has done with everything they've made since then and continue to make now. So many people fuss about Panini using the same photos on both sides of a card, but this is clear proof that Topps started doing it way before Panini did it, and on a massive scale!!!

Even though I watched the show I'm still none the wiser about this card!

Original X-Files fan club member here....not impressed with the set here, but I still watch reruns and this film often. I'll watch anything with Gillian Anderson in it!

For those who have never watched the show.  I used to watch with my kids.  First several years were very good.  Then like a lot of show, they start going down.    Do watch it if you get the chance.

I agree that the first several years were the best seasons, but I liked how they dealt with changing it from stand-alone episodes to an actual series with a continuous story line. "Supernatural" was a similar show that did the same style but also added in stand-alone episodes from time to time that had little or nothing to do with the overall story and that show lasted 15 seasons (vs. 10 for X-Files). I watched every single episode of both shows.

The problem with the ongoing continuity was that nothing ever really got resolved. There was just an ever-increasing number of dangling plotlines throughout the series and then the show ended.
