I remember when this set came out everyone hated it. I don't think it's all that bad myself, never did. The lack of borders is what bothered many people.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

I still like the 2017 Topps design. The front design is one of the best Topps layouts for that entire decade IMO. The back is mediocre Topps design/layout, but at least it shows multiple years of stats. It is hard to rate Topps cards since 2011 though. Some look really good, some look average and some look horrible. I would put the 2017 design near the top of the list of everything made by Topps during the 2011-2020 decade. IF I was a set collector, I would consider this one much more than the releases before or after it.

One of those Hall of Pretty Good players. I liked him on my Nats - during the earlier part of the 2010s I would have considered him one of our cogs. Had a solid career. One of the last (if not the last) Expos draftees to still be active.

2017 was great looking set when it was released, then came Chrome and base refractors which were really sharp looking cards too.  2017 Topps put collecting back on the map for me!

That border at the bottom dominates the card a little bit.
