Lot of put downs in the comments. At the very least he made it into the big leagues. Even if he didn't make a big impact, that is still quite the feat. The card on the other hand is just terrible. Black & white? No thanks.

This is one of those type of cards that gets lost on modern collectors. In the early 70's you only got daily sports information through the newspaper. If you were in Florida you may only get a box score of a Mariners game. You also had magazines and some regional games. So you may not have had the opportunity to see what a player looked like. These type cards were meant to get the players image out there. Mug shot cards in black and white. Yes there were other color cards out there as well but these were closer to press release items.

I'm thinking for late 70s this is about as good as anything else out there
