I'm with Gunny on these and the Topps Finest cards. I'm not peeling it! The only "Peel Off" cards that got peeled were the Mystery Finest cards around this same time. You can't know what card you pulled if you don't peel the black cover off of it. As for Totally Certified, I really liked the cards. The designs were nice and the SN's were the best ones at the time instead of black ink-dot printed SN's. The back design could have been better, but they used odd stats to stand out from regular sets. 1997 PTC had a really nice front design across all sports.

Here's the deal. If I know I'm going to resell trading cards with this "Peel Off" cover, then okay, I'd leave it on. But, If know I'm keeping them (especially if I want to display them), then I'm peeling off the cover). Who wants to leave a cover with repeated printing covering up the original printing on trading cards they want to keep and look at? Protection? Sure, I protect my trading cards with CLEAR sleeves. At least I can see through them without some other print covering up a player's face...and there ARE cards in this set where the "Peel Off" print does just that!

Are they worth more if you don't peel them?
Sort of the Velvet Underground / In Through The Out Door conundrum...

The peel off is very distracting.
