When I was in 8th grade my science class had two of these living in the classroom. We also had a millipede that rarely moved...I think I saw it walking only twice the entire year...crayfish (tiny fresh water lobsters, basically), hermit crabs and more.

My desk was next to the crayfish tank, I think I spent more time watching them than anything else.
