“ These are really cool. My grandfather has told me stories of playing long games by himself with these growing up in the 50s. And as a Braves fan, cool to see the hitting coach. Funny coincidence (maybe) as this came up the day after Freddie Freeman's cycle. ” -curling2019

Someone asked how to play the game.  I had three versions as a kid and essentially you put the card into a spinner, spun the arrow and the spin told you how the batter did.  I don't know all of the numbers, but I think a 5 was a home run.  You had pegs that you moved around the bases.  The better the player, the easier it was to get a good spin like a home run or triple.

Speaking of having the game, I think I still do.  I should update my database.  Perhaps if I get some free time that will be on the agenda.

I had this game back in the 80s. In response to a comment made for the card, one had to put the player disc in a spinner contraption if I recall correctly. Depending on the number the spinner landed on it would result in a batter action (single, double, etc). The number bands were bigger or smaller for particular players depending on their abilities.

There were only so many player discs available (stars mainly), so my brother and I took it upon ourselves to create our own discs to try and complete full teams. We'd compare statistics to the star players and use estimates to determine how big each of the number bands players should get. We'd also use baseball card images to try and hand draw player profiles that probably looked rather hideous. I can't imagine how many hours we put into that.

There are some rules posted on this guy's site: https://cadacoallstarbaseball.com/about/player-guidelines-rough/

Not sure how updated it is. Seems to still have some die-hards playing it. There is probably more of a following for the APBA game than this, but fun to see how nostalgia can keep something alive.

I used to play this game in grade school in the 70s. The discs only had names, not pictures of the players. I kept win, loss records, Hr, rbi totals, standings. I still have some of the notebooks i used also. Was great fun back then. I still have the games, discs stored in tubs

Wow, I had this game as a kid growing up in the 80s and have not thought about it since.  What a cool memory!  Thanks for the nostalgia!

I got this game for Christmas.  It was amazing.  Wish I still had my cards.

Like others, played this game extensively growing up in the 70's,  Many times by my self as well.  We use to call it Spinner Baseball.  My dad also told stories of playing this in his youth.  Many years ago for nastalgia, he bought me and my brother (as adults) an all-star version that Cadaco put out.  Took it over to his house a couple of weeks ago to play a game.  Brought back fond memories for both of us.

Played this in the 60's with 2 older brothers. We drafted the players, set up schedule, kept stats. I have seen the exact set of discs on ebay from the 60's version we played. Each year they came out with new discs, eventually adding pictures. 1 was a home run, 10 a strikeout! I have an 80's version somewhere around here.
