“ Classy design, only problem was the tiny type for the name in a font that's hard to read. ” -hamrlik22

“ I did not realize that turkey red cards were so old but I'm surprised that this is a featured card on this site because it is a reprint. ” -cardcollector65jw

“ I really like the look of Turkey Red cards, even though I normally don't like the "framed picture" cards. It is hard to distinguish the years for modern Turkey Red and even the real vintage cards from modern cards. Plus you have these reprints of the originals. A bit frustrating but fun. ” -captkirk42

“ In 1909 Howie Camnitz was 25-6, in 30 starts + 11 relief appearances. He would have had 3 saves in a stat that was not yet invented, and he had 6 shut outs. His ERA was 1.62 in 283 IP, not bad for a guy I've never heard of until seeing this COTD post ” -abide

Apart from the frame it's not a bad card, though not really a fan of reprints.

A great set and such beautiful artwork.  Camnitz was an interesting character in early Pittsburgh baseball.  He pitched for the Bucs until a trade to the Phillies mid-year in 1913, but then jumped ship to the Pittsburgh Rebels of the Federal League for 1914.

I actually like Reprints as the chance of getting many of the original cards from 1911 is doubtful.  But as I look at this set of Reprints, can anyone see anything onthe card that identifies it as a "Reprint"?

I don't mind a reprint if it is of something I will never actually see in my lifetime.

I think they are sized differently than the originals. Not 100% sure.

My one actual Turkey Red card is one of the highlights of my collection. The reprint is...ok.
