Year: 2016

Set: Topps WWE Heritage - WCW/nWo All-Stars (Rate)

Card: #37 Steven Regal

“ The streak of minor league cards comes to end. I never got into wrestling, it all seemed very hokey to me. Another boring looking Topps card front. I like the back though, the color scheme works for me and the information about him was pretty interesting. ” -davidhandberry

“ That sunburn must be a royal pain. : ) - He was WWE's King of the Ring in 2008. - His autobiography, Walking a Golden Mile, was released in 2005. ” -Uncorrected Error

“ Happy 2020 to all. A slammin' way to bring in the New year. Can't go wrong with wrestling and Regal has been involved in it for as long as I have watched it! As for the card, it's simple and has a very informative back. ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ I like the design. I thought it was more vintage until I saw it was Heritage. ” -muskie027

“ Could be a coincidental RCOTD as Regal’s facial expression (something he was known for in the ring, classic broad acting facial expressions) on the card could be that of trepidation and annoyance with the new site address on the date this card is opened for comments! ;) ” -stevejrogers

“ Now that's a Real Man's Man. Too bad they couldn't get a better picture- hand behind his back and his red/maroon singlet he wore most of the time. ” -jupiterhill

“ Actually a good looking basic card. ” -parsley24

“ Wrastlin card nice. ” -captkirk42

What a checklist for this insert set.  A lot of great names.  I'm glad Topps gave each wrestler a full bio on the back.  I need to add some of these cards to my wantlist

Unless I'm missing something, I would call him William Regal. Was there a brother to William Regal named Steven or did Steven change his name to William when WCW ceased to exist?! There are some gaps in my WWE/WWF knowledge but I only remember William Regal. Topps really needs to lay off all the Heritage/Archives crap from ANY sport! They are just getting annoying and ridiculous.

As for this specific card, it would have been great in the 1980's or 90's. But as a 2016 card, I feel like it is just more junk that Topps is trying to force-feed the collectors. WCW and NWO are LONG GONE and there is no reason for this insert. I really wish that WWE would bring back the WCW though! It was so much more exciting than RAW and Smackdown back then and moreso than now too. And NXT is just lazy to me. WWE is getting less interesting to me as each month passed for the past year or so.

I am quite interested in the 2nd version of the XFL that starts the 2020 season right after the NFL Super Bowl though. I liked the original XFL in 2001, but I guess I was in the minority back then. But the new rules lists released (now) yesterday have me even more interested. That looks like a fun league to watch! It will certainly be better than the AAF, even if it contains many of the same players. I like the rules package for the new XFL and it should make the games more fun to watch. I really want to see an Overtime Game now, just to see how that works out!

Before he joined WWE Spaz he was in WCW where his name was Steven Regal.  Actually it was Lord Steven Regal, he had a Blue Blood gimmick much like HHH did in his early WWF days.  I much preferred his WCW run to his WWF stuff, but then again I liked WCW better.

Honestly, I like the Heritage stuff Topps does for WWE more than their flagship set, especially since they've started using the same design as the do for baseball.

Wish I had seen this when it came up last week, not sure why I didn't.   Lord Steven and I follow each other on twitter, it was quite a thrill for me to see a pro wrestler give me a follow!

Someone calling NXT lazy, patently doesn't know what they're talking about.

It's weird when athletes and celebs follow you.  I was so happy when Johnny Damon followed me.  Then like random celebs did the same.  Paula Abdul follows me, that why I retweet her stuff sometimes.  Also the woman that did/does the original voice of Siri.

I would have that exact same look on my face if they crammed me into an outfit like that!

If anyone wants a good laugh, look up his first stint with the WWF/E 1998 as the "Man's Man". His terrible character and entrance theme will be forever etched in your head!

My favorite part of this Card is the mention of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.
