Random Card of the Day

Year: 1998

Set: Upper Deck (Rate)

Card: #571 Adam Butler

“ A throwing keg's rookie card, impressive. ” -ShoTime

“ Not a fan of the back, especially with "No Major League experience" listed sideways. Let's see some minor league stats that back up the "star rookie" designation on the front! In hindsight, 8 career games with an ERA of 10.80 doesn't really back up the star rookie status either. ” -vanstryland

“ Thought this was a 1990s Minor League "Classics Games" card at first. Very boring front design. Back looks like a design for inserts not a base card even a Rookie Base card. ” -captkirk42

Sad I missed a Braves player, that is two Braves that have come up in the last few days which is very rare.  I don't care for the look of this card, white border, faded away background.  I do like the paragraph explaining why he is a Top Prospect.  I barely remember Adam except for minor league and prospect cards.  I don't recall him doing much, if anything in the majors.

He may not have lived up to the star rookie status, but he was a Braves pitcher in the 90's, that automatically qualified him for future hall of famer potential, right?

He was supposed to be the closer of the future.
