“ There are some very trollish, at least I hope they are being trolls and not seriously question the practice, people who wonder why cards of the product date get used to represent or commemorate a year that something happened. I.e. someone would post a card from the 1987 season to get images of Mets wearing the 25th anniversary season patch the 1986 team wore. Well, I’d assume they’d question the use of a 1981 style Topps card when celebrating the 1980 World Champions! ;) ” -stevejrogers

“ Something about the 1981's always spoke to me. They had a gritty and grainy look and feel and the color scheme didn't match the teams, but somehow it worked. It was the last year of the original Topps logo and the last year of team cards. Plus, fake grass and big hair on this card. Love it! ” -DocOso
