“ One good thing, all that white saves on ink. ” -C2Cigars

“ Classically unimpressive. ” -NJDevils

“ 50 shades of grey. I like the border style, but it needs a splash of...COLOR. ” -CollectingAfterDeath

“ Now that is a NICE Classics card. Not too thrilled with the star shown although he was a favorite of many collectors. ” -captkirk42

“ I think this is one of the 548 baseball card products that was released in 2004. Not too many of them are memorable. This one is no different. ” -mkaz80

“ I like this design. Looks like it could be a 2018 Donruss/Panini USA release, but with logos. ” -switzr1

“ Toe-may or tho-omm never new how to say that mans name. Great looking card. ” -parsley24

“ I'm torn. I think it looks cool if it was an insert, but this looks like a complete base set, which is a little much. ” -muskie027

Donruss Classics was a very good release for a few years. They stayed similar with the design front and back, but enough difference on both sides to tell them apart from one year to another. I still like them in any sport and wish I had acquired more of them back then. Even as a Thome collector, I'm still missing this base card.

Lastly, "parsley24"... toe-may is the correct pronunciation of his last name. smiley

Nice, simplistic, somewhat monochromatic offering for RCOD of a future HOF.

Just for the record, the card does have more color to it (this is a washed out scan. COMC's scan actually has color.

I typically don't like a lot of white but I have had a few of these and they work for me.

I like cards with players who you think of in a certain uniform and they are wearing some other team.  When I see Thome I expect Cleveland Indians.  When I see phillies I don't like it, but then I can't look away.  Its like a Dale Murphy in a phillies uniform.  Or soon a McCutchen in phillies uniform.  When you think of Murph its in a Braves uni, when you think of McCutchen it will always be in a Pirates uniform.

(*having a realization)  I just don't like stars in Phillies uniforms.  There i said it.
