Year: 2004

Set: Bowman Chrome (Rate)

Card: #60 Rafael Furcal

“ I don't know about this. Bit weird. Counting stars at night? I am not huge fan of black cards. ” -Duke

“ Nice card. I liked Furcal. Big part of the 2011 Cardinals championship team. ” -switzr1

“ Look in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a pop up!!! ” -rmitchell6700

“ Anti-Bowman guy here due to their numbering system even though this one is a plain 60. ” -NJDevils

“ I'm guessing these might not scan well because I like chrome cards in general. I would rather see the Bowman Chrome be less prominent on the front and see the team name. No complaints with the back. All space is used and looks well thought out. ” -BSwagger

“ 2011 World Series champion with St. Louis! ” -vanstryland

“ Loved watching Raffy play shortstop in Atlanta. Not a huge fan of the card. Chrome cards have definitely gotten better over the years. ” -jmurph8081

“ Today’s scan was from Dave Sosidka. ” -Kirbythedodger

“ *Sigh* A Chrome card. "Hey hot dog guy, gimmie one, mustard only" ” -captkirk42

“ Nice ” -cjjt

“ First Atlanta Braves card I have seen in a long time. I am not a fan of Chrome cards besides that this is a great looking card. I like the picture, the border, the back is what you expect from Bowman and it's nice to have something different from time to time. The bad, no team name on the front, the chrome, and the boring look of Bowman cards over the years, plain borders, nothing to make them special. ” -davidhandberry

That's a really excellent scan. Getting the name to show up on the black field, in particular, is not easy.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

My Braves!  Furcal was a fun player to watch, but hard to cheer for.  Enjoyed Simmons better.  He was better than Swanson, but for whatever reason Edger Renteria was my favorite.  Can't say why.  Fandom is weird.

If they insist on doing black borders chromes is the best place to do them. regular cards with black borders never hold up well
