Random Card of the Day

Year: 2002

Set: Press Pass Stealth - Gold (Rate)

Card: #P32 Kevin Harvick's Car

“ These mirror foil parallels were one per pack in both hobby and retail. If you got all three for each driver, you could spell out Stealth on the front and a full image of the back of the car on the back. It was a unique design concept they did with Stealth for a bit. While I don't consider myself a Harvick fan I've always liked that paint scheme quite a bit. It was used only in 2002. Someday I plan to build a plastic model of it, but I have not gotten to it yet. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Is this a card or an advertisement for Goodwrench? If you told me an advertisement I honestly would be less shocked than an actual card. I don't get how every time racing cards seem to get it wrong. Picture of a car, picture of a driver. Card done. This is one of if not the worst card I have reviewed since I started doing these reviews. ” -davidhandberry

“ Looks like a car coming from the twilight zone. ” -deporcoruña

“ Is this a jigsaw puzzle type set? Here we have the "EAL" portion of the card set and the "oodwrench.c" portion of the driver's car. ” -kents_stuff

“ NASCAR and advertising. No mention of Kevin Harvick on the front ” -kirkscards

“ Racing card. Looks like a sales card for a dealer. LoL Nice card. ” -captkirk42

“ guessing this is a shout to all the comments recently regarding racing cards without a picture of the car.... Doesnt look like this card was very well thought out, the car photo shopped then just dumped on the card. ” -Smokin_joe

Lots of comments here from people who know nothing about the set itself and didn't bother to look before posting. If you line up cards 31 and 33 on either side of this one, the top spells out Stealth and on the backs the entire rear end of the car is shown. Card #'s 31 & 33 are also pictures of the driver himself. In later years, they did the same layout but with the driver as the first card, the vehicle 2nd and the pit crew as the 3rd card. The rear of the cards were a "puzzle" forming the car or even the big rig "hauler" that takes the cars to the tracks. These were all done very well and fit perfectly in 9-card pages throughout the set.

Why "Stealth" ? I don't follow racing, but the word "stealth" does not come to mind when I think of fast cars. I like the futuristic lazer font in the background.

Nice looking card.  And Billy's and Spaz's explanations clarify what is going on with the designs.  An idea like this would get a person to want to collect the whole set, which is kind of the whole idea of printing a card set.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I've given up trying to figure out where the names come from long ago. Stealth, Optima, Eclipse, Trackside...only one of them has a racing name.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
