Year: 2003

Set: Bazooka (Rate)

Card: #158 Jermaine Dye

“ Very simplistic, but it really works. If I collected baseball I would have been a big fan of this set. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ A nice simple set that was cheep enough for kids to buy. Don't love the back though. ” -CluelessJoe

“ I remember chasing the team logo variations of the Bazooka Joe card. Fun times. ” -olerud363

“ Nice card! I had no idea Topps made a bazooka brand this late (03). I remember them in the *80's, so this is a nice flashback. Good to see a former Royal as well....DYE-NO-MITE! ” -RoyalChief

“ Just plain ugly. Too much white border and wasted space. The oversized white circle for the team logo. Same with the oversized pennant for the name. Leaving a large gray area for the position. All overly disproportionate. And the wavy name is an annoyance to read. Dye is one of 118 players who hit a home run in their first major league at bat. ” -C2Cigars

“ No career stats at all? Just the most recent season? Maybe just because that's so unusual is why I am thinking I don't like it. Dye was a decent journeyman, gave value but never a star. ” -Brimose

“ Cheaply made cards and it shows. ” -carthage44

“ This is one of the many sets that I need to make a serious building effort on. I like it. I have a sub-set of all 31 of the Bazooka Joe cards. I have 5 of the minis and need to get all 31 of the Silver parallels of card number 7. ” -captkirk42

“ This was issued during my hiatus, but it looks like a precursor to 'Triple Play'. Based on the team logo size, Topps only had a partial license? ” -dilemma19

“ My first thought when I saw this card was "Black Flag". That's my impression of the name plate on the front. The team logo is made to look even smaller by the excessive white circle surrounding it. The back of this card, though well balanced, has only one year of stats. This card really needs help. ” -CollectingAfterDeath

“ I miss the Bazooka sets! ” -mkaz80

“ Way too simple in 2003 from a major company. ” -Sportzcommish

“ This looks like a Procards 1980's Minor League card. Though the Procards were much better. ” -jupiterhill

"Ok stop playing around. Which one of you has some Bazooka bubble gum?"
