Year: 2001-02

Set: Topps (Rate)

Card: #73 Arturs Irbe

“ Not the best of years for Topps designs. ” -koloth42

“ I like that they included his playoff stats on the back. ” -carthage44

“ Oh yeah. I kinda see the name hiding in that dark patch at the bottom...Irbe rocking the Hasek cage! He had a solid career, but despite playing his best year(s) with Carolina, I only remember him as a Shark. Not that it matters, but he was born on groundhog day. ” -dilemma19

“ ACK chrome foil lettering for player name. Is the Player name there bottom center? I seriously can't tell what it is with this scan. Back looks OK if a bit crowded. ” -captkirk42

“ Decent design, from when Topps had a brief infatuation with colored borders. The light blue worked better for NHL than it did with NBA. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Nice set ,easy & affordable to collect . Great goalie ,not so great teams. ” -uncaian

“ I miss seeing short goalies in the NHL. They gave me hope that I could do it. ” -DanD

“ It has all the elements of what you would want on a card, except the name is hard to read. I suspect foil lettering. Regardless, something just looks wrong. Maybe it is the blue border. This just has an odd look. ” -muskie027

To borrow from Canes' announcer John Forslund, "Irbe says no!"--especially to this design.
