Year: 1991
Set: Impel G.I. Joe (Rate)
Card: #96 In from the Cold
“ Although I had my first comic read to me at 5 days old, the GI Joe series was the first I read as an actual series- not just random issues. Although I no longer collect the action figures, I do still collect the comic- the series that started in 1982 ended in 1994, and then came back in 2009 or 2010, with the same numbering and storylines and even the same writer. This was the either the second or third card set I ever completed, probably third, but unfortunately I didn't start keeping records until 1998. GI Joe has played a huge role in my life since 1990, and still plays a role, albeit smaller, to this very day. ” -Billy Kingsley
“ I dont' see the appeal, but I'll say it's a pretty good looking card. "Armed conflict" was a prominent theme in 1991. ” -dilemma19
“ Oh Wow an old Impel card. Talk about your flashbacks. Nice card all around, back reminds me of the bio cards that are on the backs of the figures package. That must be the idea. I think this was when Impel was still a MD based company. I was really excited for them at the time since I am a Marylander. ” -captkirk42
“ I bought the first few issues of this comic series when it came out. Haven't picked up any G.I. Joe cards. ” -armac
“ My boys collected these. Still have some unopened packs here. They took this direction along with comic books so I am stuck with the sportscards. Good memories. ” -NJDevils
“ One of my favorite cartoons growing up. ” -carthage44
“ A combination of my 2 favorite hobbies. The 86 set has the original JOE art which, IMHO, is near perfection. ” -SFC Temple
