I don't get the appeal of the printing plates...

I don't get too excited about printing plates, personally, but I do like any "1 of 1", so pretty cool as CotD! captkirk, unless I missed the humor in there, I'm guessing you're not much of a NFL fan, as those are a couple of young, stud receivers currently in the NFL!

I think prining plates have a cool premice, but they are one color, so they are quite strange. I got my first and only printing plate recently. It was a relic, and it had the same back as the non-prining plate of the card. I personally think an SN 1/1 is preferable to me, but it was sick all the same. Yes, it is my favorite card im my collection. Now back to the card.
Evans and Watkins are a decent combo, and I've never seen a printing plate in RCOTD before, so this card is great in by books!

Not a fan of Sage, not a fan of printing plates as a "card" either. Waste of a COTD in my mind.

Not a fan of printing plates. I have a friend who was a free-lance photographer in the 70s and 80s and sold his photos to Topps and Fleer. Should I lump him over the head and try to sell him on Ebay? Or would the lump be considered a variation?

Forgive me for saying, but is this scan somewhat crooked? The top edge black (Uncropped) on the left, but corectly cropped on the right.

But the bottom seems to be perfectly straight - may be an issue with the actual cutting of the plate - they are metal after all, and I'd be willing to guess they use a different method to cut metal than they use to cut cards. (Plus they round the corners, who knows how far they go with that?)

To answer CaptKirk, in 2 years (each) in the league, Watkins (#4 pick) has receiving totals of 982 & 1047 yds. and Evans (#7 pick) has 1051 & 1206 yards. Both have over 1500 cards to their name. So yeah, they made the league!! They weren't teammates, but they were the two top receivers in that year's draft.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
