“ The "hockey stick" design. Bench was a great player. ” -vrooomed

“ Nothing screams the 80's like light blue and brown stripes down the side of the card. ” -carthage44

“ A classic card from a great player! I remember pulling this card from a pack back in the day. :-) ” -cckeith

“ Cool. A base card of a HOFer. I like it. Big fan of this set too. This is also the last year he was a catcher. He's a 3B on 1983 Topps. ” -switzr1

“ Even though he played the majority of his career in a pullover jersey, it's hard to picture him without a button-up. ” -jlaz10

“ Bench got Benched. That is all. ” -Dixxy

“ Really don't know why they went with the hockey sticks on the left side. As for the back, blue and green? Rough on the eyes. ” -NJDevils

I had the opportunity to meet him and shake his hand. Wow! He has huge hands. I recall reading that he can hold 7 baseballs in one hand. I don't doubt it. It was like me shaking hands with a baby. He was very nice to my son and me when we spoke to him.
