Year: 1995-96

Set: Fleer (Rate)

Card: #347 Bryant Reeves

“ The 1995-96 Fleer set holds so many memories for me. It was a pack of series 2 (of which this card is from) that my mom brought home that got me started collecting basketball cards- 18 years and over 75,000 different NBA cards later (!) I'm still collecting, although not at the levels I once did. This subset highlighted a player from each team, and Bryant "Big Country" Reeves was the face of the Vancouver Grizzlies, the franchise's first ever draft pick. He had a very short career- only six years. The Vancouver Grizzlies lasted the same amount of time- they moved to Memphis between the 2000-01 and 2001-02 season. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Bryant "Big Country" Reeves was drafted 6th overall by the Vancouver Grizzlies during the 1995 NBA Draft. He spent his entire career there (1995-2001). Career Stats: 4,945 Points (12.5 PPG), 2,745 (6.9 RPG) and 302 Blocks (0.8 BPG). He got the nickname Big Country from college teammate at Oklahoma State Byron Houston, who said Reeves was amazed following his first flight across the US. Reeves currently lives in his hometown of Gans, Oklahoma and owns a large cattle ranch. ” -carthage44

“ First 3 years he averages 13-7, 16-8 and 16-7. Signs 61 million dollar contract. Next 3 years he goes 10-5, 8-5, 8-6 and retires. Thank you guarantee money ” -Young Kilo

“ Yikes! Way to busy a card for me. ” -koloth42

“ I don't really care for the card layout, it screams 1990s overkill graphics. The Vancouver Grizzlies logo however I always enjoyed, it reminds me of a Jack Kirby drawing. ” -Gunny

“ This screams early-to-mid 90s. I'm sure a number of graphic designers have tried to drink away memories of this time. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ This uniform pretty much sums up the '90s. ” -jlaz10

“ "...and THAT'S when I discovered Photoshop, doctor!" ” -revnorb

“ Big Country! ” -jackal726

“ Who? Great picture of his bald spot. ” -yokonashiwa

“ Not a fan of oddly-named, meaningless subsets within the base set, as an excuse to make a second (or third or fourth, etc) card of a guy. Firm Foundation certainly qualified. There was a LOT of this in basketball in the early-to-mid nineties. Way too much going on with the design too. ” -switzr1
